Running (His first steps)

Friday Douglas took his first couple of steps without holding onto anything. Today he started taking 3 or 4 steps before falling. We were able to get him "running" to my mom. He is just a little over 9 months old. I could be wrong but I believe he will be walking by 10 or 10.5 months. He's standing longer on his own each day. It's so fun to watch him grow. I just can't believe that my baby has taken his first steps already!!

It looks like Travis' hands are still holding him at the start but he lets go immediately. It's all Douglas!!!!!

9 Months

Okay so Douglas turned nine months on Monday the 13th but I'm just getting to posting this. Douglas is doing well. I spend my days following him making sure he's not into anything he's not supposed to be. He is crawling fast and walking like CRAZY!! He pulls up on EVERYTHING! He really only says "Dada" but he babbles it. When he starts that I alway say, "Dadas not here but mama is." No luck on him saying mama yet. I've been trying to increase his solids and make it chunkier. Anyways, here are his stats:

Weighs 18 lbs 12.5oz (doing MUCH better on that)
height 28.5 inches

Haircut

I really want to do something different with my hair. I'd like to cut it but no shorter than my shoulders. I'm LOW maintenance and usually scrunch my hair to make it curly/wavy. The top of my head is FLAT and it's driving me nuts. Any suggestions?? Do you know of a good hair dresser around here??

Big Cedar Lodge, MO

We just got back from a long weekend at Big Cedar Lodge near Branson, MO. My grandma owns a time share there and hooked us up with sweet accommodations. My brother and his family met us there. I haven't seen them in 2 years. He's my only sibling, besides a step-brother, so I love him and his family dearly. We went on the lazy river, swam, ate, went on a tram ride in the Dogwood Canyon, boating, lazy river, and ate some more!! You'll see alot of pictures of my nieces and nephew. I love them SO much!! I always told my mom and Travis when I was pregnant that I just hope my kids are as cute as Bens (my bro), and I have to say I am lucky enough that Douglas is just as cute!

He's mobile

Douglas took his first real crawl on July28, 2007 at 8.5 months old. Then we went on vacation and all he wanted to do was walk. He wouldn't sit still and play at the cabin like he does at home and he didn't seem too interested in crawling alot either. He insisted upon walking around the coffee table or holding on to us. He now can walk holding on to one of hands instead of holding onto both hands. When we got back yesterday I set him on the living room floor with toys and I walked into the kitchen and he crawled after me. He's not a fan of tile floor yet. The house is not baby proof so thats a pain. We bought outlet plugs and locks for our cabinets but haven't installed them yet because of vacation. Travis is out of town and as soon as he gets back we leave for Branson, MO with my family so baby proofing will have to wait a while.

Vacation was good. We saw old friends and visited with family. One of Travis' sisters lives in Hong Kong so we haven't seen her family in 1.5 years, I think. It was great to see everyone and meet our new nephew, although he isn't too new anymore. He's over a year old and we just met him. It'll be fun when him and Douglas are at the ages that they'll play together. We actually didn't take too many photos but here are some.
